Purpose:

Rescue-1
responds to medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, ice rescue, entrapment and fire incidents. It carries the most comprehensive array of medical equipment of any Auburn apparatus, plus portable and mounted scene lighting equipment, vehicle extrication equipment and breathing air cascade system to refill firefighter air packs at building fires.

It is housed at the Safety Complex for two reasons: To accommodate longer response time to the north end of town by Derry Ambulance, and quicker response time to NH Route-101 for serious vehicle accidents.
