October, 2009

The Auburn Volunteer Fireman’s Association is an organization whose members work to help the Auburn Fire Department and the community of Auburn NH. This annual fund raising letter provides the majority of funds to support our efforts during the year.

Where will your donation go?

  • This year the Auburn Fire Department is getting a second tanker truck, and the Fireman’s Association plans to purchase a portion of the tools and equipment needed to outfit the truck.

The Fireman’s Association also funds these regular annual events:

  • Emergency medical coverage at the cyclocross bicycle race (a charitable event with proceeds awarded toward helping an Auburn resident fight cancer)
  • Demonstrations at AVS and Auburn day care facilities during Fire Prevention Week
  • Annual Blood Drive
  • Participation in local parades and memorial events
  • Appearances of “Smoke Stack Jack” at the Verizon Wireless Arena and other events
  • Workmen’s compensation insurance for members working at Association activities

Past purchases of the Association include many important items that are still in use today:

  • Cardiac defibrillators
  • Forestry Firefighting Trucks, tanker and utility
  • Gator ATV and enclosed trailer
  • Rescue boat
  • Thermal imaging camera
  • One dress uniform for each member (pants, belt and shirt)

Please send your donation to the Auburn Volunteer Fireman’s Association, 6 Pingree Hill Road, Auburn, NH 03032.  Thank you for doing your part to help and support the Auburn community!
