The Association works to give the Fire Department tools and equipment that would not be otherwise acquired without taxpayer’s money. These include Forestry trucks used to fight forest fires in Auburn’s many wooded acres; Rescue boat for incidents on Lake Massabesic; Thermal imaging camera used to locate fire and hidden heat sources or locate people by the heat of their bodies; and Gator ATV to transport victims from woodland trails. Last year your donations were used to purchase “Smokestack Jack”, a 9-foot tall inflatable costume for public awareness. Smokestack Jack has made appearances at the Auburn Village School, Verizon Wireless Arena, Auburn day care centers, parades, ball games and other public events. This year the Association plans to help purchase a second thermal imaging camera, and uniforms for members manning full-time shifts. The Fireman’s Association provides manpower and resources to support community events such as demonstrations at the Auburn Village School and Auburn day care facilities during Fire Prevention Week; Annual open house during fire prevention week; Annual Blood Drive; Dress uniforms for Department members to wear during parades and other official events; Tables and chairs for community gatherings; www.auburnfire.org web site; And provide food and beverage for firefighters during long-duration incidents. This annual letter asking you to make a donation to the Fireman’s Association provides the single largest source of funds to support our efforts during the year. Please help the Auburn Volunteer Fireman’s Association by sending a donation to the Auburn Volunteer Fireman’s Association, 6 Pingree Hill Road, Auburn, NH 03032. Thank you for your
past donations and your future support.
